Background Information: Caldwell and his crew saved atlantis from the Wraith as they laid seige to the city and fooled the wraith into thinking that the city was destroyed.

Profile and Assignment: Colonel Steven Caldwell is the Commander of the Earth ship the Daedalus which is atlantis's main attack vessel against the Wraith. Caldwell proved himself a a great commander in destroying the remaining hive ship as it attacked Atlantis. When he is on Atlantis he outranks Sheppard and he makes sure he knows it. Caldwell have proven themselves very useful in the war with the Wraith as lending a hand to Sheppard and his team as they attemped to fix an ancient powersource in the episode "Trinity" and helping to resucue survivors from a planet as a volcano erupted in "Inferno".

Caldwall himself was taken over by a Goa'uld and the Goa'uld forced him to sabotage atlantis as the rest of the Goa'uld did not want the Wraith getting back to the Milky Way galaxy. The Goa'uld was eventually removed by the Asguard Hermoid the Daedalus's Asguard engineer.
